Braking & reversing
Give the next corner the speed it needs.
What it does
BRAKE reduces speed and stops at zero. REVERSE is a separate outward movement from BRAKE.
How to do it
Hold BRAKE to slow or stop. To back up, hold BRAKE and slide outward into REVERSE. Release it when you have room to rejoin.
Why use it
Arriving under control leaves a usable exit. Reversing recovers a blocked car without another collision.
Timing
Do most of the slowing before the tight part of a corner, then turn and prepare the exit.
Advanced
A short brake can save more time than a wall hit. If you need recovery, use the DBE hum to find a useful rejoining direction.
